I worked on Smart Grid & Micro grid topics under the advise of professor Diego A. Patiño. The project was based on the design and development of a Smart grid model that intend to explain didactically the concept and functionalities of the future power grid called smart grid. Key elements such as distributed generation, self healing, demand response, smart metering etc where explained with the smart grid model. The model uses a wirless sensor network based on ziggbie technologies to comunicate with the central controller that operates and control the whole system. In the central controller a built in SCADA system made in Labview is in charge off the operation of the smart grid.
