Part of Aegon's Brazilian business MAG Seguros, WinSocial combines innovative technology, global underwriting, reinsurance, and social media influencers to offer life insurance to people with diabetes in Brazil. Successfully led a team of 10 highly skilled developers while managing backend development. Under my leadership, we introduced playbooks for streamlining processes, adopted NestJS as our primary API framework and Next.js to improve performance and SEO, and integrated event-driven architecture. These improvements enabled us to: - Deployed the first insurance e-commerce platform that implemented a complete end-to-end purchase experience, including digital underwriting and pricing. - Published the first iOS and Android app that offers customers discounts on insurance by monitoring their heartbeat, breathing, and steps. - Developed a SaaS platform with hundreds of daily users that use AI to enable brokers to match e-commerce leads, increasing conversions by up to 10%. - Improved our code quality, reduced the time to market, and streamlined our development and deployment processes by successfully incorporating DevOps with CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI
A significant part of my responsibilities involved the evolution of our technical architecture. We transitioned from a simple, straightforward LAMP stack to a modern, cloud-based design under my leadership. Our new design incorporated Kubernetes and Node.js microservices, which were deployed on Google Cloud Platform through robust CI/CD pipelines. The tools we leveraged during this process included GitHub Actions, Terraform, Sonarqube, Jest, among others. This transformation greatly improved our scalability and flexibility, equipping us for the rapid growth we experienced.
